Offering II
Now that Arise and Build Pledge is over, I'm starting to give offerings once again! So here goes nothing:
Mark 10:13-15
Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."
Over these few passages, Jesus is saying one thing. Have a child-like faith. Now there is a difference between being childish and having a child-like faith. For even in Proverbs, it tells us to cast away our childish side and put on the mature side.
Having a child-like faith is just like when a father says he will give her a sweet. Of course the child will not doubt the words of her father. Instead she will believe in whatever he says!
Furthermore, the bible wrote little children instead of children. Meaning that reasoning skills has not been set into them. Therefore we can't always tell God, why you never bless me, why you never give me this, give me that. Let's not reason anymore and trust in God. Even there's a song going around and it goes like, "Jesus loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so." To a child, if the bible says so, it is settled, no two ways about it. The bible says it, I believe it, that settles it. Do not limit God, but let God be the limit!
So let's give a offering with a child-like faith!
